Rochelle makes her home in Seattle, Washington, where she has been raising four wild and creative young artists. After twenty years of focusing on raising children, she has returned to her devotion of jazz. Rochelle studied music theory, studio singing and jazz harmony at the College of the Redwoods and Golden West College in California. Recently she received her bachelor's degree from Antioch University, Seattle. She is proud to be introducing her music to the world on her debut recording entitled "Dreams of Love." The title of the cd comes from an art piece by Rosemary, her ten-year-old daughter; the logo design of "Rochouserecords" was created by her son, Raven, who is thirteen.
"Dreams of Love" represents a collaborative effort with pianist and professor Marc Seales. Their first intention was to make a good record. Rochelle listens to instrumental jazz and challenges the tradition that expects singers to be the focal point in vocal recordings or performance. She plays with great players and creates musical situations that attract great listeners. For Rochelle, it has been a labor of love—and now it is a work of art.
Peace.
